After the famous novel by Pakistani author Mohsin Hamid (2007), the motion picture "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" depicts a young Pakistani man chasing corporate success on Wall Street. After the 9-11 events he finds himself embroiled in a conflict between his American Dream, the way the Americans violently approach him, a hostage crisis, and the enduring call of his family's homeland. The book we designed for director Mira Nair accompanies the motion picture. The book represents the internal and external conflict of the films main character by a dispersed and 2 hectic stacks of photography. A second black and white section "behind the scenes" shot by Brigitte Lacombe creates a contrast with the wild part 1.
