1815, Willem I Frederik Der Nederlanden returns from defeating Napoleon at Waterloo to build the foundations of the 'Koninkrijk der Nederlanden.’

In 1815, Three armies were involved in the Waterloo battle: Napoleon's Armée du Nord; a multinational army under Wellington; and a Prussian army under Blücher. Part of Wellingtons army was composed of Dutch troops under Prince of Orange's younger brother Prince Frederik of the Netherlands, the later ‘king of the Netherlands’. After defeating Napoleon, Prince Frederik founded The Netherlands and combined all its parts into one country. This piece uses all historic heraldic symbols of the cities of Holland depicting Willem I's return to The Netherlands.
